The European Treasury Browser (ETB) provides European learning resources for schools via a metadata-based network of national collections. The launch of the project will take place in the European Schoolnet Office, in Brussels, on 7 October 2002.

You are welcome and your participation is highly appreciated!

- 13:00 Launching of ETB with people from the Steering Committee
- 14:00 Presentation of ETB to the Steering Committee
- 15:00 Workshop/review of the project with online presentations

European Schoolnet invites all the interested parties and individuals, as well as national repositories and networks to take part in the launch at 13.00 and the workshop afterwards. The workshop will provide information of different means of participation in the ETB network. Network members receive high quality learning resources from participating repositories.

  • Participant will have the opportunity to receive valuable technical information about ETB. The following experts will be present:
  • Silvia Panzavolata (INDIRE, Italy) - European Learning Resources Thesaurus
  • Thomas Maier / Frans Van Assche (EUN) - ETB Light
  • Tommy Byskov-Lund (UNI-C) - NNTP network and Repository Toolkit
  • Michael Kluck (Humbold University and IZ, Germany) - Multilinguality
  • Clive Best (Joint Research Centre, Italy) - Native and Central Repository
  • Johannes Philipp (FWU, Germany) - Controlled vocabularies and Heterogeneity
  • Riina Vuorikari (EUN) - Quality Issues
